About Me

I wanted to create simple decorations that make an impact even in a small room. Designed for a baby girl, baby boy or gender neutral nursery, our felt bunting would suit a classic or modern nursery design. The smaller size of flags means there’s even more colour in a metre of bunting. Personalisation can be added to many of our products and all items are handmade with love.

For little people with big dreams….

How it all began

I was a Childrenswear Buyer for 10 years but I wanted to be more hands-on with product and creating beautiful things, so I left the corporate world to set up on my own. I’ve been sewing since I was young but I have taught myself to crochet more recently. To be honest, anything crafty - I’m in!

I set up Styled to Sparkle because I love kids styling (my previous career was in children’s fashion) and I wanted to create magical events with custom decoration; and so my party planning business was born.

My felt and glitter bunting was a side line to the party planning business initially but has become so successful I rebranded Styled to Sparkle to be the home of kids decor, selling beautiful decorations for nurseries and children’s rooms.

Family

My Nan always used to say “precious things come in small packages” - at the time she was referring to me being smaller than most of my friends at school. Little did she know I’d be running my own small business however many years later. I definitely believe that the most precious purchases come from my fellow mums running small businesses, creating magic at their kitchen table.

When you run a business from home with young children, the whole family are involved. My daughter, Arla, wasn’t even here when I first set up Styled to Sparkle and now she loves bunting just as much as me. If you’ve seen our social media - you’ll know we love rainbows and glitter. Arla’s a little bit young to help me on the sewing machine just yet, but she’s happy to have a few photos every now and then. Follow us on Instagram and Facebook to follow our journey.

Simple is beautiful

I believe you can transform any room with the right colours. Simple decorations can be beautiful and still be special. What I love most about our bunting is that it can create a whole new feel just with a couple of metres of colour.

I know first-hand how crazy it is having your first baby. It’s a crazy world of far too many purchases. I’m here if you want to chat about nursery ideas. All my bunting and accessories are made to order so I often get requests to match wallpaper or bedding. Just get in touch if you want to chat about ideas - I love discussing colours.
